Ahh, winter is upon us! The perfect excuse for hot chocolates by the fire, Home Alone marathons and snuggling up indoors whilst the cold weather bristles outside. Winter is a great time to update your bedroom and bring in the warmth that is missing outside. After all, you will want a snug sleeping space to retreat to as the dark, colder nights draw in.

Bedroom ideas 2021, we have seen some fantastic ideas. But, what is trending this season and, how can we spruce up our rooms into havens of luxury for winter?

Bold colours and textures

According to interior designer Cassie Williams, who runs Truffle Interiors, “bold colours, such as deep reds, blues and greens are really popular at the moment. As well as this, lots of texture and layering is ideal for warmth and achieving that real cosy feel. Rich patterns paired with deep tones are also still showing to be on-trend.” Choose a bold paint or accessorise with some beautiful bedroom furniture. If it is a new bed you are looking for, our gorgeous Chelsea chesterfield bed is available in 29 colours including deep red and green, perfectly complementing this seasons colours.

You can create texture in a room by accessorising with warm rugs, wall hangings and using patterns. Introduce lots of pillows and layer with a selection of blankets and throws. We adore our snug Sherpa throws for injecting a splash of colour and wrapping up on chilly nights.

Upholstered headboards

A great way to transform a bedroom is with a headboard. ‘We have seen a huge demand for statement headboards this season,’ says Cassie. “They are perfect for creating a focal point in a bedroom and putting your own stamp on a bedroom.” Go for a natural vibe with a French rattan headboard or upholstered with a floor standing headboard. Headboards make an excellent long-term investment.

Storage

“People are becoming drawn to built-in storage now, more than ever, with the hope to maximise their space,” says Cassie. The pandemic has shifted our way of life in more ways than one. Making space for home offices and family life is high on many of our agendas. Bespoke built-in wardrobes and nifty pull out shoe racks are fantastic for utilising space. If undertaking a large bedroom renovation is not quite on your radar, then there are other excellent ways of utilising space. An ottoman bed is perfect for holding items that may clutter the room. Our beautiful selection of bestseller ottoman beds come in a variety of colours to complement this seasons trends. Another popular choice is the Tunstall ottoman, beautifully upholstered with plenty of storage for blankets and bedding.

Embrace nature

Bringing the outside inside is a favoured bedroom idea for 2021. Nature enhances the feeling of relaxation and tranquillity. Embrace greenery with bold colours, indoor plants and natural wooden flooring.  After a disappointing lockdown winter in 2020, connecting nature with our bedroom interiors is now a popular trend as we reclaim our freedom and time with loved ones.

So, incorporate some warmth, colour and texture this season to create the ultimate bedroom sanctuary. Continue your search here for more winter bedroom ideas 2021.
